Fatal DUI Collision near Commercial Center Drive in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (December 7, 2021) – Early Saturday morning, Jacob Stanley was killed in a fatal DUI accident on Sahara Avenue.

The incident occurred around 12:51 a.m., near the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Commercial Center Drive.

Per reports, the intoxicated driver of a Honda Civic was traveling east on Sahara in the far right lane. There, 31-year-old Juan Vazquez struck a pedestrian along the roadway.

Shortly after, paramedics responded and performed life-saving measures on the severely injured pedestrian. However, medics later pronounced 36-year-old Stanley dead at the scene.

Officers say Vazquez displayed signs of impairment before he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. Police charged him with DUI resulting in death.

The surrounding area was closed off during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the road has since reopened to traffic.
