Jackass star Steve-O was arrested last night after he scaled a construction crane in Hollywood as a protest against SeaWorld's treatment of captive orca whales, which the theme park uses for entertainment.

Dozens of firefighters and police officers responded to the scene about 8 p.m. after Steve-O, aka 41-year-old Stephen Gilchrist Glover, made it to the top of the crane at Selma Avenue and Gower Street, authorities said.

Streets were shut down and air cushions were set up in case he jumped, but Steve-O eventually came down from the top of the crane to surrender to cops.

“Anyone wanna bail me out of jail?” he asked followers on Facebook.

He warned on Facebook yesterday that he would “do a big dangerous stunt in Los Angeles tomorrow that will probably get me in a lot of trouble.”

Steve-O then livestreamed his climb on Facebook. He brought an inflatable killer whale he calls Shammy and dropped it. And he set off fireworks.

Fans below whistled and yelled “Steve-O.” But cops weren't happy. (Warning: Video, below, contains NSFW language).

Lt. Michael Ling told reporters at the scene, “Obviously [this was] a waste of police and fire worker resources.”

It was reported that Steve-O was arrested on suspicion of trespassing. In May 2014 Steve-O defaced a San Diego freeway sign so that it read “SeaWorld Sucks.”
