Jack White's Third Man Records label will be releasing a Conan O'Brien album and a 7″ single recorded last June. [A previous, incorrect report by The Hollywood Reporter claimed that it was two albums.]

According to the HR report, the single

is “And They Call Me Mad?” which includes O'Brien's improvised spoken word inspired by the legend of Frankenstein and an interview with Conan conducted by White Stripes frontman Jack White.

The [album], “Conan O'Brien Live at Third Man,” has rockabilly tunes performed by O'Brien and his band — including a duet with White.

This strange pairing could be evidence of a nefarious ginger conspiracy, as White is married to notorious ginger Karen Elson, who, most peculiarly, has also recently released an album on Third Man.

In any case, single cover and release details:

They're bringing spoken word back

From the Hollywood Reporter:

“And They Call Me Mad?” ships Aug. 24, with ordering info available on White's Third Man Records site. Both are expected by be available on iTunes next week.
