17-Year-Old Driver Dead after Solo-Vehicle Crash on 210 Freeway

FONTANA, CA (May 9, 2022) – Sunday night, 17-year-old Ivan Salcido lost his life following a single-car collision on 15 Freeway.

The crash occurred on the northbound lanes of the freeway near the eastbound 210 Freeway on May 1st.

For reasons unknown, Salcido lost control of his gray 2006 GMC Sierra and veered off the road before rolling a few times and landing on its roof. Responders pronounced Salcido dead on scene, due to the extent of his injuries.

Another victim, a 17-year-old female passenger suffered moderate to severe injuries. Medical personnel rushed her to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Moreover, large sections of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, authorities are still conducting an active investigation of the crash. Once available, more information will be released.
