While most of us tend to buy bottled water or filter our own, we still usually drink the tap water at restaurants. Compared to other parts of the globe, the quality of that water is still pretty good. From March 21-27, the UNICEF Tap Project® is recommending diners donate $1 per glass of tap water consumed at participating restaurants. Over 900 eateries and 4000 volunteers across the country are making sure kids around the world have clean water to drink. Just a few of the participating LA restaurants include Swingers, Real Food Daily, Larchmont Grill, Hugo's Restaurant, 8 oz. Burger Burger Bar, and Mama's Hot Tamales. The public is invited to visit the website for more information — or to donate directly — while local restaurants still have the opportunity to register to become involved.
