Just in time for the 50th Anniversary of the classic TV special “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”– Rise of the Jack O’ Lanterns opens in Los Angeles.
RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns, in Kentia Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center, consists of thousands of hand-carved illuminated jack o’lanterns (basic-intermediarry level work), with dozens of 100 pound artisan pumpkins. RISE jack o’lantern artists spend 10-15 hours on per pumpkin, and foam pumpkin structures. Dozens of illuminated pieces fill the Convention Center from the 13th-16th of October before moving to Pomona Fairplex on the last weekend of the month.
While some are on their last legs and a few of the artisan pumpkins don’t quite hit the mark, the majority of the Jack O’Lanterns at RISE are super cool.
