Former Shadow Hills Football Player Isiah Ortega-Dage Dead after Hit-and-Run Collision

PALM SPRINGS, CA (September 14, 2021) Authorities arrested a hit-and-run driver that claimed the life of 23-year-old Isiah Ortega-Dage last Saturday.

The fatal incident occurred in the early morning on Palm Drive, north of Varner Road in Desert Hot Springs, according to the CHP.

The investigators claimed that a female driver and Ortega-Dage stopped their sedan beside the right shoulder of Varner Road.

Afterwards, it was determined that Isiah exited from the passenger side of the vehicle to walk around to the driver’s side.

However, a Nissan pickup truck struck the man before it immediately fled the scene.

Eventually, authorities identified the male victim as Isiah Ortega-Dage of Indio which they pronounced dead at the scene.

Later on, the authorities located and arrested the hit-and-run driver for vehicular manslaughter and possible DUI.

Desert Hot Springs Officials are investigating the incident.
