12-Year-Old Killed in Off-Roading Collision near Stoddard Wells Road

APPLE VALLEY, CA (February 24, 2022) – Sunday morning, 12-year-old Isaiah Rocha died in an off-road dirt bike crash near Central Road.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 9:15 a.m., on February 20. Dispatchers responded to the scene near Stoddard Wells Road.

As per reports, Rocha was riding a dirt bike in the area when he was struck by a man driving a CanAm.  Investigators say they both riders swerved in attempt to avoid crashing, but were unsuccessful. As a result, the two vehicles collided head-on.

Upon impact, the boy was thrown from the dirt bike onto the ground. Medics responded and transported Rocha to a nearby hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of his condition, crews later pronounced Rocha deceased at Providence St. Mary Medical Center.

No further details regarding the deadly off-roading crash have been made public at this time.
