Bicyclist Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Rocky Peak Road

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 26, 2022) – 27-year-old Isac Chavez lost his life after a bicycle collision on 118 Freeway, Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened around 11:20 p.m., on the westbound lanes, near Rocky Peak Road.

Per reports, Chavez was speeding on his white 20008 Suzuki GXSR when he made an unsafe turn, and failed to stop in time. As a result, he rear-ended a blue Tundra.

The impact of the crash ejected the rider and threw him on the No. 4 lane of the road. Despite life-saving efforts, officers pronounced Chavez dead on the scene.

At this time, no further information has been released. LAPD Officials are currently working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash, as an active investigation is underway.
