25-Year-Old Victim Fatally Struck in Auto Collision near 59th Street

SACRAMENTO, CA (March 31, 2022) – Early Thursday morning, Isabelle Deleigh Cassio was killed in a car accident on Highway 50.

The incident occurred around 4:15 a.m., near the eastbound lanes of the highway near 59th Street.

Per reports, Cassio was driving an eastbound 2005 Subaru Outback when she drifted off the roadway and hit several impact attenuators filled with water. The impact caused the Subaru to roll over, before it was struck by a passing Volkswagen SUV.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 25-year-old Cassio, dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 56-year-old female SUV driver sustained only minor injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released her name or place of residency.

At this time, it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
