39-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash near Gage Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 2, 2021) Iquisha Blaxon, 39, was fatally struck by a semi-truck in a pedestrian crash on Grand Avenue.

The accident took place around 6:45 a.m., early Monday morning near the 110 Freeway. Dispatchers arrived to the scene near Gage Avenue shortly after.

According to California Highway Patrol, Blaxon was crossing the street heading towards a store when she was hit by a semi-trailer vehicle for reasons unknown. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Despite life-saving efforts, Blaxon succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The surrounding area on Grand Avenue was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, officers are tracking down other security footage to help determine the driver at fault.
