So you're one of the legions of Echo Park hipsters who proudly threw down your summer internship stipend for the boxy iPhone 4?

Haw-haw.

The smart guys and girls at Macrumors have put together illustrations of what they think the next iPhone will look like, and it's so much cooler. Not only that, but the rumor mill indicates that …

… its possible Apple will unveil the phone at its Sept. 7 media event.

The new iPhone, if true, will be thinner and return to the rounder back end of the 3 and 3GS. At the same time it appears to have more viewing area — with a screen perhaps as large as 4-inch diagonal.

It's sleek and thin but with a rounded behind, sort of like what would happen if Kim Kardashian went on a coke bender.

This makes sense: While its still the king of smartphones, the competition (like the insanely huge HTC Evo 4G) seems to be getting bigger and bigger, like those wristwatches you see douches in Vegas wear.

Anyway, Macrumors came to its illustrations via apparently leaked dimensions sent by Apple to its Chinese manufacturer, which seems to be gearing up. (Some retailers are also said to be scheduling training for a possibly new product).

We like it. How about you?
