When it comes to crimes against the tourism industry, SoCal cops work fast. Anaheim police today announced an arrest in that scary blast yesterday inside the Mikey's Toontown section of Disneyland.

And it wasn't a pimpley-faced teenager, as predicted. It was an inside job. Allegedly:

The department ID'd the suspect as 22-year-old Christian Barnes, an “outdoor vending cast member,” according to an Anaheim PD statement.

Cops indicated that Barnes coped to the prank and told them “this is an isolated incident with unintended impacts,” according to the statement.

For allegedly putting dry ice in a water bottle and putting the cap on — which causes the chemical to expand and blast and spew dry-ice fog — Barnes is facing a police-recommended charge of possessing a destructive device and was being held on $1 million bail.

Of course it will be up to the Orange County District Attorney's office to decide if the Long Beach resident will actually be prosecuted.

The blast in a trash can was reported shortly before 5:30 p.m. yesterday and prompted officials to evacuate Toontown until 7:30 p.m.

Cops told us officers in Anaheim had seen such devices before and quickly knew what they were up against: A prankster.
