The members of Insane Clown Posse have been running independent wrestling matches since before they were rappers. In fact, the world of wrestling informs their attitude towards the music business and their hip-hop career. While in Detroit conducting our exclusive interview “Down (and out) with the Clown: The LA Weekly Interview with Insane Clown Posse,” they invited us to attend
one of their JCW matches (the name of the league stands for Juggalo Championsh*t Wrestling) in the back of vintage store The Modern Exchange in Southgate, Michigan. The first matches were mellow, but after a while, things started turning bloody… All photos by Gustavo Turner.
