The Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, a group of 60 musicians between the ages of 10 and 25, will bring its music to the public at its sixth annual season finale concert. At this Walt Disney Concert Hall performance, the kids will play classics including Shostakovich's Second Piano Concerto and Camille Saint-Saëns' Symphony No. 3 alongside Motown hits by The Supremes and The Temptations. The orchestra, which consists entirely of inner-city middle school, high school and college students, was founded in 2009 with the goal of providing the city's neediest youth with the opportunity to “play the great music of the world, and to perform that music on the great stages of the world.” If this booking of the Walt Disney Concert Hall is any indication, it's doing a great job meeting that goal. Walt Disney Concert Hall, 111 S. Grand Ave., dwntwn.; Sun. July 6, 3 p.m.; $25-$50 (50 percent of ticket price is tax-deductible). (310) 412-6777, icyola.org.
