Three Hurt in Two-Vehicle Accident near Magic Mountain

VALENCIA, CA (July 25, 2022) – Monday afternoon, an inmate bus was involved in a collision on 5 Freeway that injured three victims.

The incident occurred around 12:25 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Magic Mountain.

At this time, the events leading up to the crash remain unclear. However, reports indicate that a Transit Services Bureau bus struck a Toyota Prius under unclear circumstances.

Responding officials confirmed that at least three occupants sustained minor injuries. In addition, at least 18 inmates were on board the transfer bus at the time of the incident.

Crews closed the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes on the highway for an unknown duration. Santa Clarita Valley Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the bus collision on 5 Freeway.
