Victims Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident near Painted Cave in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, CA (January 31, 2022) – Officials reported injuries early Saturday morning after a head-on collision on Highway 154.

The crash happened around 2:07 a.m. on January 15th, at Highway 154 near Painted Cave.

According to California Highway Patrol officers, the incident involved a tan Chevy Suburban and a black sedan. Although, the events that led up to the accident remain unknown.

Per reports, responding officers confirmed that multiple occupants from inside the Chevy suffered minor injuries. Additionally, the driver of the black sedan reportedly fled the scene, after threatening a witness.

At this time, authorities continue to search for the missing driver.

Meanwhile, officials have not yet released any information about the head-on collision on Highway 154, but an active investigation is underway.
