Southeast Gilroy Multi-Vehicle Crash Left 11-month-old Baby Killed

GILROY, CA (July 30, 2021) – Saturday, an infant was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 156 in southeast Gilroy, according to the CHP.

Officers responded to the incident that happened just before 1:20 p.m., just west of Pacheco Creek Drive.

Upon further investigation, police determined that a westbound 2019 Freightliner Cascadia rear ended a 2020 Toyota Corolla after it suddenly slowed down.

In addition, three adults occupying the same vehicle received minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the Freightliner and the Volvo remained unharmed.

The deadly Highway 156 multi-vehicle crash is being investigated by the Gilroy authorities and California Highway Patrol.
