Two Women Killed in Car Accident on California City Boulevard
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 10, 2022) – Saturday, Inez Figueroa-Villegas and Airam Betzay Delgado were killed in a head-on collision.
The incident happened on October 1st at the intersection of California City Boulevard and Yerba Boulevard involving a Chevrolet SUV and a Toyota, per initial reports.
According to reports, 66-year-old Figueroa-Villegas was driving the SUV when she crashed head-on with the Toyota. Investigators say the Toyota was driven by 22-year-old Delgado.
Upon arrival, responding paramedics declared both woman dead at the scene. In addition, medics transported a third victim to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, Bakersfield police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident and will release additional information once available.
