What's in a name? A lot when it comes to clubs. This week, three parties that should be as mad as their monikers. The less-than-subtle sass of DANCE BITCH has made for a winning formula: half-naked man candy, dress themes (this week: “Sportcoats and Speedos”) and hard beats for boy's boys … and bitches, of course. Dress in theme and get in free. Fubar, 7994 Santa Monica Blvd., W. Hlywd.; Fri., Jan. 22. fubarla.com. The name SQUIRTS caught our attention, if maybe for the wrong reasons, but then we saw the lineup (Reid Speed, Eva, Syrena and Trouble) and knew the bass-heavy beats would be anything but little. It's basically Club Technique taken over by female DJs. Still, the connotations might be intentional: They promise to make the floor “slippery.” Zanzibar, 1301 5th St., Santa Monica; Tues., Jan. 26. clubtechnique.com. THE CUT might bring to mind less-than-appealing images too, especially for a night of androgynous carousing. It actually stands for “Creatively Uniting Talent,” and with promoter Blaque Sin, aka Terrence Golden (formerly of Drrrama!!), at the helm, expect severe sass and fashion on the floor and more. The Standard's Purple Lounge, 8300 Sunset Blvd., W. Hlywd.; Thurs., Jan. 28. thecutla.com.
