L.A. R&B singer/songwriter Paloma Ford has just dropped new single “Nights I Cry” from forthcoming new project X Tapes, which sees her dive deep into the trials and tribulations of recent relationships. And there’s a video too, with Ford being taken for a nighttime drive as she contemplates the pain of a breakup. The driver, incidentally, is appropriately wearing a face mask.

“I envisioned the visual for ‘Nights I Cry’ to match the vibe of the song; a song that reflects those nights spent alone with the thoughts of the relationship running through your head,” Paloma says in a press release. “It’s something you can ride out and smoke to… I had this picture in my head of riding through L.A. in a drop-top and making it a statement, as well as a vibe. We had to work with a small team and limited resources because of the lockdown, so I’m immensely proud of the final product.”

X Tapes will be Ford’s first release since 2016’s Nearly Civilized, and we’ve missed her.
