The most critically acclaimed thing the Orange County band Imperial Stars has ever done was probably blocking the 101 freeway for a publicity stunt two years ago.

And that was universally panned.

So was it worth it? All three of the band mates pleaded guilty today to conspiracy and misdemeanor charges:

We're going to say it probably wasn't worth it.

The three — Christopher Roy Wright, 34, David Paul Hale, 32, and Keith R. Yackey, 33 — were sentenced to three years formal probation, 35 days of community service and to-be-decided restitution.

These guys.

These guys.

The band's truck blocked the southbound 101 freeway at Sunset Boulevard and the act performed on top of the vehicle. Or, as the D.A.'s office put it:

The truck driver fled with the keys while the band performed a concert atop the truck, complete with its own film crew.

Traffic was jammed for at least two hours.

One of those stuck in traffic was City Attorney Carment Trutanich, who vowed to prosecute the trio to the fullest (the case ended up going to the D.A.).

It all went down the morning of Oct. 12, 2010.

#Winning.
