The Daily Breeze is reporting that a laid-off refinery worker in Carson has barricaded himself in his home ahead of a foreclosure action. The homeowner, Frank Torres, told the DB that now that he has a new job, he can afford to hold onto his house — but says he's five days late on his mortgage payment. The newspaper, however, says public records show that Wells Fargo has, in fact, been in possession of the Anchor Avenue property since September.

And so workers arrived this morning to remove the Torres family's

possessions. Alerted to the action, Torres returned home from work and

told the eviction team to leave — then barricaded himself inside.

“I am not going to walk away from my house without a fight,” the DB quotes Torres as saying.

County Sheriff's deputies arrived at noon and remain at the scene — as does Torres' wife, Luz.
