Iggy and Siouxsie to Headline Cruel World: English punk icon Siouxsie, minus her Banshees, will headline this year’s Cruel World on May 2o, alongside proto-punk legend Iggy Pop.

This year’s event is a little brighter than last year’s very goth fest, although Love & Rockets will please the vamps. But elsewhere, there’s a post-punk and new wave flavor thanks to the likes of Billy Idol, Adam Ant, Echo & the Bunnymen, the Human League, Gary Numan, Modern English, Gang of Four, the Motels, Animotion, the Vapors and ABC.

According to the press release, “This year marks Siouxsie’s first North American performance in 15 years. The English singer last released her solo, debut album, Mantaray, in September 2007. Notably, Iggy Pop, the writer of “The Passenger” famously covered by Siouxsie, will also be performing. Furthermore, Love and Rockets are making a grand return to the stage as the band last performed together in 2008.”
