We're a few months from the fall television season, bringing the debuts of many new series, which means that the cast-offs from 2010's pilot season have already met their fate. Most of them, if logic prevails, were probably crap and deserved a pre-emptive mercy killing. There are always a few, though, that someone (if not many) will uncover in the future and wonder “What were they thinking?!” A plethora of just these sort of titles comprise UnCabaret and Cinefamily's The Other Network: The Festival of Awesome Unaired TV Pilots!, back-to-back lineups of awesome missed opportunities including fan-favorite Lookwell!, Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel's spoof starring Adam West as a washed-up TV detective trying to fight crime in real life; Heatvision & Jack, starring Jack Black and Owen Wilson and directed by Ben Stiller; and two from Judd Apatow, including the struggling-actors comedy North Hollywood. The great Dana Gould will be on hand for the first show with his own recent, unaired pilot, plus a Q&A afterward; additional titles for the late show still TBA.
