McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream is releasing ice cream brownie sandwiches starting Friday, Feb. 3 in all scoop shops. The frosty indulgent dessert features a choice of any ice cream flavor surrounded by two freshly baked, chocolatey brownies. PRO TIP: Choose McConnell’s limited-release Brazilian Coffee ice cream — it’s a fan favorite of Barbara Streisand, Hilary Duff and Christina Milian. 

The Macallan will celebrate its new coffee-inspired, limited edition whisky, The Harmony Collection, with a four-day, immersive pop-up. The whisky and coffee pop-up, The Macallan Harmony Café at Carrera Cafe , will be open today through Sunday, Jan. 29. There will be complimentary treats that speak to distinctive whisky and coffee rituals, from custom coffee and cocktails, to branded lattes and food pairings, to tastings of the new limited edition whisky and a photo op at the Harmony street art mural. On Tuesday, Jan. 31, LOAM at the Ace Hotel will host Soft Spirits, a nonalcoholic bottle shop featuring a premium selection of NA spirits, wine and beer, for its first  Soft Spirits Supper. For one night only, the vegetable-forward restaurant located in the Ace Hotel will feature a three-course prix fixe dinner where each course is paired with a spirit-free cocktail, wine or digestif selected by Soft Spirits founder Jillian Barkley.

Highway Cannabis Company will celebrate the opening of its flagship store in Marina Del Rey with a grand opening event featuring music, leading cannabis brands and local food vendors, open to the public 21+ on Saturday, Jan. 28. Sample foods from the westside, including Alfredo’s Fruits and Speak Cheezy Pizza. Good news for shokupan lovers – Japanese milk bread cult favorite Ginza Nishikawa will pop up at Bonjour French Pastry in Gardena on Friday, Jan. 27.

The Natural History Museums (NHM) of Los Angeles County announced that its longstanding community partner, South LA Cafe, will join the Natural History Museum in Exposition Park as its new food, beverage and hospitality provider under the newly formed entity South LA Cafe (SLAC) Hospitality. The team behind the popular local cafe, market and community center known for social impact, will manage, in partnership with established local operators, the Museum’s restaurant, (set to open mid-March after refurbishment), the new cafe in NHM Commons (the Museum’s new wing slated to open in 2024), and exclusive in-house catering services at both NHM and La Brea Tar Pits. SLAC Hospitality will take over the Museum’s food service operations on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and has an organizational commitment to subcontract with 90% minority- and women-owned LA-based local companies.
