It was a Monday on the I-5 North, right around rush hour. You know what that means: time for some ROAD RAGE!

Typically, the rage boils off after a couple honks and a middle finger. Two of yesterday's ragers, however, took it to the next level. After becoming angry with each other near the Alameda Avenue exit in Burbank, they decided to take it outside, per say — following each other down the off-ramp and parking at South Flower Street and West Ash Avenue.

That's when the standoff went down (like in an Old Western, but between a beat-up old van and a Mercedez-Benz):

The man with the old van — after the incident, the other guy couldn't remember it's make or model; must have been seeing red — pulled out a gun — you know, the one in the glove box, just in case! — and fired multiple shots.

The 27-year-old victim in the gold Mercedez never actually got out of the car, according to police. He was hit once in the torso, while the rest of the bullets plowed into his vehicle.

ABC7 reports the feud began about 4:20 p.m., though the actual shooting didn't occur until 5:30 p.m., according to Burbank Police Lieutenant Ed Ruiz. In other words, our ragin' outlaws were forced to sit in traffic for an hour before they could get off and have at each other. Don't you just love this town?

So far, there have been no arrests. The victim is at the hospital in somewhat bad shape, KNX news radio is saying. Anyone with information about the shooter or the crime is urged to call the Burbank Police Department at (818) 238-3000.
