71-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Mile Marker 877

ORANGE COUNTY, TX (September 6, 2023) – Wednesday morning, Howard Lewis Allen was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 10.

The incident happened around 4:40 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near mile marker 877 on August 30th.

Per reports, the driver of an eastbound 2018 Toyota Rav4 struck a pedestrian who was crossing the highway.

Shortly after, the driver of an 18-wheeler semi-truck also struck the pedestrian. Medics arrived and pronounced the man, 71-year-old Allen, of Orange dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver, 53-year-old Luis Hernandez and his three passengers remained unharmed.

At this time, an active investigation into the pedestrian crash on Highway 10 is still underway. Once available, further details will be provided.
