68-Year-Old Driver Crashes Vehicle into Two Houses near Sweetwater Summit Regional Park

BONITA, CA (February 14, 2023) – Tuesday morning, Howard Jones died after his SUV crashed into two homes on Corral Canyon Road. The incident happened on January 24th, shortly before 9:30 a.m., near the 4200 Block of Corral Canyon Road. According to reports, Jones, driving a Nissan SUV, lost control for unknown reasons and swerved to the left, hitting a residence. The vehicle then continued forward and came to a stop after landing on the roof of another home. Emergency crews at the site of the crash pronounce 68-year-old Howard Jones, of Bonita, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, no other injuries from the incident were reported. An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently underway.
