With voting rights hanging in fragile balance due to proposed legislation across the country, looking back at history is more important than ever. In her latest book, Recasting the Vote, historian Cathleen D. Cahill does just that, examining stories of multiracial activists who helped make the national suffrage movement happen. The Autry Museum presents Cahill discussing the inclusive vision for equality and representation with Virginia Scharff, the museum’s Senior Scholar, with topics focused on women- their struggle and their impact. It should serve as an inspiring spotlight on the past and the work that still needs to be done in our country. Thurs. March 18, 7 p.m. PST. Register here.
