It’s no secret that SEO (search engine optimization) has grown in complexity over the years, but it’s still one of the most powerful ways to rank higher on Google. With major algorithm updates like RankBrain, Penguin, Panda, and Hummingbird, there are many strategies that can help you reach page one and stay there consistently. In this article, we will cover some of the top ways to rank higher on Google in 2022 and beyond with SEO tactics that don’t change much or require much effort once they’re set up.

Write great content for people

The single most important factor for ranking higher on Google will be having great content. So, if you want a long-term SEO strategy that builds traffic over time, focus your energy on creating incredible pieces of content. Focus your efforts on creating content. Start by cultivating an audience that cares about what you have to say. Make sure your content is heavily indexed so it can get found by search engines with ease. If you aren’t getting enough backlinks from other sites, try guest posting—but do it right or don’t do it at all! If you want people writing about what you write, make sure your content answers questions and solves problems people care about. Do those things right and watch as your organic traffic skyrockets.

Use long-tail keywords

Long-tail keywords are more specific search terms that have proven to be more effective for SEO. These words and phrases tend to draw traffic from a wider range of users, resulting in a lower bounce rate, which is another factor that positively impacts rankings. For example, instead of targeting broad keywords like Dallas criminal defense lawyer, consider long-tail keywords like who is the best rated Dallas white-collar criminal defense lawyer.  It’s important to note that if you’re trying to rank higher on Google now, long-tail keywords are not only effective but also necessary. Paying attention to long-tail keyword strategies and other tips outlined above will help you stay ahead of (and surpass) your competition.

Put links in your content

If you want your content to rank higher, link to external content from within your own post. While it may seem counterintuitive—if a search engine can’t find something directly on your site, it doesn’t know that you’re talking about it—external links will still pass some value and ranking power back through if they are relevant. Just make sure to use descriptive anchor text so users know what they’ll be clicking into when they click on one of your links. For example in this post, I am putting an external link to one of my news articles on Google Mum. I wrote this

Link out to authority sites

When we say authority sites, we don’t necessarily mean that these are big-name sites with thousands of visitors a day. What we mean is that these are relatively large websites that have already built some trust with your audience by providing quality content. There is a good chance your future customer has seen an authority site before and knows that it’s a place worth visiting (that’s why it’s an authority). Now, when you link out to those authority sites, they will naturally see your backlink and give your content more credibility. In return, you rank higher on Google. Authority links aren’t something that can be bought; they are earned.

An example of an authority site is  and you can see in this example, I have created a great piece of valuable content on the subject of Storytelling and how lawyers can take advantage.

Network with influencers

No one knows your industry better than those who have been in it for years. It’s also a good idea to reach out and make connections with up-and-coming bloggers who could help you drive traffic back to your site. These influencers are often looking for content they can link out to, so being helpful and generous will ensure your name stays top of mind when they decide what stories or information is best for their audience. To easily find influencers online, use a tool like BuzzSumo; to allow you to quickly identify what subject matter an account is most influential in.

Make your content useful for others

One of the best ways to stay ahead of your competition is by providing useful information that gives your customers what they want. Online consumers are becoming savvier each day, which means you need to stay one step ahead of them. Give users a thorough and detailed guide about a problem or an issue that they’re likely struggling with, and back it up with evidence from reputable sources. Not only will you be giving people what they want, but you’ll also be positioning yourself as an expert source for future queries on related topics.

Optimize your website and blog for search engines

It’s going to be a lot harder for you (and your website) to rank well in 2022, so don’t delay. To optimize your site for search engines, consider things like title tags, meta descriptions, page load times and overall readability. Look at your competitors and see what they are doing—and then do it better. Take advantage of new technologies as they become available. SEO will change constantly over time; stay ahead of trends by keeping abreast of changes that could affect your rankings.

Have a consistent message across platforms

Consistency is key when it comes to social media profiles. If people see an Instagram photo of you doing something one day and an unrelated post about that same topic from your Twitter account a few days later, it will look like you’re not focused. Your followers should be able to recognize your voice no matter where they come across you, whether it’s on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Establishing a strong presence on multiple platforms also opens up opportunities for creating more content—and more traffic back to your website.

Use Press Release Amplification Method Developed by Qamar Zaman SEO

One great way that many companies have been using effectively is press release amplification. In essence, it involves finding newsworthy stories with a bit of a meaty content piece, leveraging relationships you’ve built up with journalists in your niche who will want to write about your company, and then spreading that story via social media. The more people you can get talking about it—and linking back to it—the more authority those pages accrue and the better they will rank in search results. It’s not something that can be done overnight, but once set up properly, you can maintain momentum by doing quarterly releases each year. The benefit of Press Release for Link Building

Press releases is some of one of the most effective ways for link building. Press releases allow webmasters with any sort of product or service to increase search engine rankings through outbound links that they receive from websites that wish to re-post a version of your press release. Releasing a press release not only opens doors for more potential linking opportunities, but it can also allow you to go beyond just link building and tap into social media marketing by releasing your press release on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn as well. There are three reasons why more people should be publishing press releases: (1) Search engines will rank a website higher if it has relevant external links coming from reputable websites; (2) Press releases can be used as content upgrades/lead magnets; and (3) Free publicity!
