Thanksgiving celebrations take on a whole new meaning in an age when we're more concerned with Black Friday sales shopping strategies than seating placements. But that doesn't mean you have to forgo your favorite fall flavors just because you're going to skip the traditional sit-down dinner.

Some L.A. bartenders are mixing up cocktails inspired by Turkey Day — so you can still have your turkey and drink it, too. We've also included a couple of recipes by some local bartenders for those who need something to help them get through their family dinners.

Turkey: The Turkey Dinner cocktail at Fraîche in Culver City will be available this weekend on the new winter menu and features a spicy mix of clove-infused Wild Turkey, cranberry juice and Cynar artichoke liqueur with a candied orange peel garnish.

Butternut squash: Hatfield's on Melrose shows that butternut squash isn't just for side dishes anymore with its Butternut Squash cocktail featuring Moon Mountain Vodka, butternut, tangerine and Dr. Thomas' O.D. bitters.

Pumpkin: The Sleepy Hollow cocktail at Villains Tavern in downtown is a creamy dessert of a cocktail with gin, pumpkin, citrus, organic egg whites, sugar, heavy whipping cream, chocolate chili bitters. It's not on the actual menu but you can still order it from the bartender through the end of November. For another pumpkin cocktail, try Rivera's autumn pumpkin mezcal cocktail.

Sweet potatoes: L.A. cocktail vloggers Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark present a dessert in a shot, Shoot a Wild Turkey — Wild Turkey, butterscotch schnapps, canned sweet potatoes and nutmeg. You can make this at home but need a creme brulee torch (not blow torch) to toast up the mini marshmallows topping.

Maple syrup: This autumn sweetener is featured in Drago Centro's Golden Goose cocktail of Bulleit Bourbon, Fernet Branca and fresh cape gooseberries.
