Largo owner Flanagan looks good in the 310. See Monday.

Surely somebody out there who reads L.A. Weekly has gobs of money. Tables of Ten: Dining for a Cause kicks off the big 11th Annual Avenues of Art & Design Walk. For $750 — what you spend on parking on the Sunset Strip in a year — you get a lovely gourmet dinner seated at a table more extravagantly decorated than Bob Mackie’s rumpus room. Each table is designed by top talent from local fancy-schmancy show rooms, and the food is by such chefs as Jeff Henderson from Food Network’s The Chef Jeff Project, Ben Ford of Ford’s Filling Station, Neal Fraser from Grace, David Schanhals from the Palm West Hollywood, Javier Plascencia of Romesco, Yoshinura Kojima and Wolfgang Puck from Red Seven, David LeFevre of Water Grill and Evan Kleiman from Angeli Caffe. Proceeds go to Inner-City Arts. Don’t have the $750? The Art & Design Walk (May 31, 4-8 p.m.) is free, with coffee served gratis at Urth Caffé. Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Ave., W. Hlywd.; Fri., May 30, 7-10 p.m.; $750. (310) 712-6339.SATURDAY, May 31

Recovered from the Festival of Books? Then you’re ready for BookExpo America. Though it’s not free like the FoB, it is air-conditioned. Authors making appearances — and famous people pushing their new books — include Magic Johnson, Philippa Gregory, Alec Baldwin, Judy Blume, Michael Moore, Michael Connelly, Ted Turner and Jon Krakauer. Lewis Black will rant on behalf of his book, Me of Little Faith. Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St., dwntwn.; May 29-June 1. For complete schedule and fees, visit www.bookexpoamerica.com.

SUNDAY, June 1

The big news at this year’s Lummis Day Festival is the free concert by Jackson Browne. Browne’s family were among the founders of an arts colony in Highland Park, where they lived. The fest, which takes place at Sycamore Grove, Lummis House and Casa de Adobe, features a performance by Culture Clash and a family stage with a puppet theater, plus poetry, dance, storytelling, art and lots of L.A. history. Lummis Home, 200 E. Avenue 43, Highland Park; program will begin with a 10:30 a.m. performance by Carlos Guitarlos and an 11 a.m. poetry reading. Also at Sycamore Grove Park, 4900 N. Figueroa St.; and Casa de Adobe, 4603 N. Figueroa St.; free. www.lummisday.org.

MONDAY, June 2

Largo debuts in its new home at the Coronet Theatre tonight with a show by Largo it-girl Aimee Mann (which the Largoscenti will recognize as code for “special guests aplenty”). The new venue features two rooms — a larger 260-seat theater, plus a small 60-seat club with tables for the Monday Largo Comedy Night. Gone is the food, and you have to drink at the courtyard bar before (and after) the show, but the same shut-the-fuck-up-or-leave policy remains. Largo, 366 N. La Cienega Blvd.; $40. (310) 855-0350.TUESDAY, June 3

The free summer concert series kicks off with Hollywood & Highland Center’s 2008 Summer Wine & Jazz Concert Series. Jazz and blues singer Barbara Morrison lends her considerable pipes to this classy setting (well, if you can get over the whole Hollywood Boulevard thing). Future headliners include Pete Escovedo Latin Jazz Orchestra, Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band, Francisco Aguabella, Charlie Hunter and many more. Hollywood & Highland Center, Second Level; every Tues., June 3-Aug. 26, 7-9 p.m.; free. www.hollywoodandhighland.com.

WEDNESDAY, June 4

If it’s Wednesday, it must be Legendary Bingo with Jesse Brune, host of Bravo’s Work Out show. (A gay show about personal trainers? Where’s Kathy Griffin when you need her?) Money raised will go to the world premiere of KHEL! A Bollywood Bedtime Story, coming to the Ford Amphitheater in August. Hamburger Mary’s, 8288 Santa Monica Blvd., W. Hlywd.; Wed., June 4, 7-9 p.m.; suggested donation $20. (323) 654-3800.

THURSDAY, June 5

“I never thought of myself as depressed as much as paralyzed by hope.” That Maria Bamford kills me. She’s part of the bill for Justa Taste, Justa Laugh, Justice for Women, a benefit for the California Women’s Law Center. California Science Center, Wallis Annenberg Building, Exposition Park; Thurs., June 5; cocktails 6 p.m., show 8:30 p.m.; $100 (hey, there’s food and it’s a good cause). (323) 951-1041.
