Last week Maryland-based organic tea company Honest Tea brought its unmanned, pop-up “Honest Stores” to L.A., gauging Angelenos' propensity for (or against) bottled tea thievery. The results, revealed by hidden cameras located throughout the Honest Stores, revealed what we knew, but perhaps hoped wasn't true: Los Angeles is not a very honest town.

L.A. was the fifth of seven cities — Boston, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco and Washington D.C., among them — to undergo Honest Tea's social experiment. While San Francisco and D.C. have yet to be tallied, the results for the first five cities are in and Los Angeles came in dead last, scoring a 75% honest rating.
