Yep. Air conditioning. Now. Turns out the United States had its hottest month ever in July. You can tiptoe around this global warming thing, but it ain't gonna make us any cooler:
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said today that July broke the record for hottest month in U.S. history: The average U.S. temperature as 3.3 degrees above the entire 20th century average.
And the milestone capped the warmest 12 months in American history since record keeping started in 1895.
This as L.A. experiences a blistering heatwave with triple-digit temps in inland valleys and deserts.
Now you global warming naysayers might say that 117 years is nothing in the long view of world temperature change. And you'd be right.

But still, you have to wonder.
NASA's James Hansen says there's not too much doubt. Recent research he published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences concludes:
Recent heat waves and extreme summers were likely caused by global warming …
Not only that, but such extremely hot summers will be the norm in coming years, he says.
So our question to you is, when we come to our last days, Will you share your Fiji water with us pretty please? Thanks.
