With its burgeoning crop of shoebox-sized wine bars, discreet cocktail havens and fancy coffee shops, what downtown LA's “revitalization” has really been missing is a good, old-fashioned, sanitized corporate tittie bar. That gaping cultural hole will be filled when Hooters opens July 11th on Figueroa Street near the Staples Center. The VIP opening party happens on Saturday night, but for regular schmoes, the first 100 people who arrive at 11 a.m. on Monday will receive free chicken wings for a year.

Sure, downtown Los Angeles has Sam's Hofbrau, Spearmint Rhino and a few others, but are any of them nominally a sports bar staffed by a crew of wholesome, busty, all-American waitresses? Do any of them boast the environmental commitment to owl preservation that Hooters does? Didn't think so.

The 7,300 square-foot location, which seats 270, will feature 40 large HD screens, two 200-inch high definition television screens and a full bar. The location will also be home to the new Fox Sports Broadcasting booth where AM570 KLAC will broadcast live during sporting events and concerts.

Hooters (downtown LA): 1248 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles.
