The guy said it was a joke.
But the LAPD's bomb squad doesn't play around. And so, after a man entered Hooters in Hollywood today and said he had bomb in his lunchbox, the area was evacuated and Hollywood Boulevard was shut down, police say:
After what happened in Boston, it was a dumb move.
The bomb squad was going through the restaurant as we speak just in case, LAPD Officer Christopher No told us.
It all started at 4:43 p.m. when the guy walked into the short-shorts establishment at 6922 Hollywood Boulevard and mentioned having a bomb, he said.
It wasn't taken as a joke, and the place cleared out, No said. When officers arrived, the man was cooperative and he was quickly taken into custody.
He was arrested on suspicion of making a threat, according to No.
Unfortunately for us, a rumor that had the man claiming to have the bomb in his pants was untrue, the officer said.
Now that would have been funny.
