Hoopurbia is the world’s first urban hula-hooping festival. Born in Berlin, the weeklong event fuses hooping with yoga, contemporary dance, fashion, music, art and cutting-edge technology. Every year Hoopurbia goes to a different city in the world. Participants came from as far as Germany to participate in the festival.
Yesterday Hoopurbia took to the streets with an LED Hooping flash mob in Chinatown. A Saturday takeover of Santa Monica Pier also was in the works, and through the weekend they have events for anyone interested in joining in.
