Patterson Man Dies in DUI Accident on Monte Vista Avenue

TURLOCK, CA (June 25, 2021) – Saturday night, 64-year-old Homero Sanchez died after an alleged DUI crash on Crows Landing Road.

The car accident happened around 8:30 p.m., just south of Monte Vista Avenue. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.

According to the CHP, Sanchez was driving a northbound 2006 Honda Civic at 45 to 50 miles per hour. For unknown reasons, he crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a southbound 2014 Land Rover Range Rover.

Emergency personnel arrived on scene and performed life-saving measures on Sanchez. He was then taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto where he was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, rescuers also took the Range Rover driver, Mariel E. Castaneda, 26, to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries.

Authorities currently believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.

Our deepest condolences are with the loved ones of Homero Sanchez during this difficult time.
