Pasadena's urban flour mill Grist & Toll kicks off its 2015 baking series with a home-baking class with Dawn Woodward, founder of Evelyn's Crackers, which is dedicated to using only stone ground, whole local grains. This all-day, hands-on class will explore a well rounded repertoire of sweet and savory baking, including Woodward's favorite digestif, crackers, barley-spelt scones, pop tarts, persimmon spice cake– six recipes in all. Bring an apron and a notebook as all else will be provided, including coffee, a light lunch and a booklet with Woodward's baking tips and recipes.
