Hollywood recently welcomed The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood, a new luxury hotel located in the heart of the most storied and symbolic neighborhoods in the city.

Always excited for a new hot spot, we made our way to what may soon become the best hotel in Hollywood and were stunned by the glamorous, almost retro-chic, vibe that overtakes you upon entry. A haven for artists and creative visionaries, the aesthetic’s heady vibe carefully crafted by The Gettys Group (known for their work at The Bellagio, The Wayfarer DTLA and China’s Visun Villas resort, to name just a few).
Los Angeles-based Kevin Barry Art Advisory curated and provided Godfrey’s extensive art collection, which adorn both the interiors and exteriors of the hotel. Pieces include the one-of-a-kind “I Love You” sculpture beckoning you forward at the entrance of the hotel and a life-size swept bronze “Dress and Tuxedo” sculpture which emotes an appreciation of its neighborhood’s Old Hollywood style. Our personal favorite piece – a seven-piece sculpture that comes together to form a celestial set of hand-pigmented gold wings.
Marvel at the dichroic glass casting rainbow shadows across the room as you make your way up to IO ROOFTOP atop Godfrey Hotel Hollywood. Recently named “the hottest ticket in town” and one of Los Angeles’ best rooftop bars, this is one stop you need to put at the top of your list pronto.
As the largest rooftop in Hollywood, guests can not only enjoy craft cocktails made by expert mixologists at one of the two bars, but a 70-foot projection-mapping screen for movie screenings and art displays, sexy secluded lounge areas and a glittering pool that we’re almost positive emits a siren song as it invites you to mellow in its waters.
Complete with a rotating calendar of DJs and comedy shows as well as serving sushi from 4PM – 10PM, we couldn’t be happier to live in sunny SoCal where outdoor spaces like this can be enjoyed year-round.
Once you work up your appetite at the best rooftop bar in town, head to About Last Knife, The Godfrey’s SoCal-centric signature dining experience courtesy of talented Chef Steven Blackburn. Chef Steven offers an elevated menu that features a substantial showing of plant-based options that stand on their own, appealing not just to vegetarians and vegans, but also to the health-conscious LA demographic. In addition to a phenomenal food menu, their curated bar program offers seasonal cocktails, local craft beers, and local whiskeys.
