The end of summer DUI crackdown is behind us and it's time to breathe easy, right Angelenos?

Never! Think about it. Halloween is coming and the holidays aren't too far off. That's prime drunk-busting season, people. The LAPD is just getting warmed up. This weekend they have checkpoints and DUI patrols just waiting for you.

Beware (and, better yet, be safe):

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. there will be an LAPD DUI checkpoint waiting for you on Ventura Boulevard at Columbus Avenue in Sherman Oaks.

Tonight from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Pasadena police will have a checkpoint set up somewhere in their fine city. They're not saying exactly where.

Tonight from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. there will be extra police on the streets throughout the LAPD's entire Hollywood Division in search of inebriated motorists. Cops call it a “saturation patrol.”

Tonight from 4 p.m. to midnight the LAPD will have extra units on the streets of downtown in an effort to crack down on drunk driving.

Saturday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. an LAPD checkpoint will be welcoming you on Imperial Highway at South Main Street in South L.A.

Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. there will be a DUI checkpoint on South Alvarado Street and West Sixth Avenue in the lovely Westlake District.

Sunday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. the L.A. department will have a checkpoint set up on Harbor Boulevard at First Street in surly San Pedro.
