Urban marijuana farming is an art in resourcefulness, no doubt.

But — as we learn today from one Thai Town grower arrested around midnight for possession, cultivation and intent to distribute — one must be cautious about utilizing one's apartment fixtures in place of gardening tools.

This genius, who has not been identified by the LAPD, was discovered shin-deep in water…

… after he managed to break the ceiling fire sprinkler he was using to water his marijuana plants. According to ABC7, he had pulled “some wires wrapped around the sprinkler, causing it to break and the alarm to go off.”

So the sprinkler alarm, like any standard sprinkler alarm, summoned the Los Angeles Fire Department. However, upon realizing that there wasn't exactly a fire to fight, LAFD responders called up the LAPD to report the apartment-sized pot farm.

LAPD Officer Randolph Agard tells City News Service that cops discovered dozens of soggy plants and several pounds of ready-to-distribute weed in the man's Thai Town home.

The apartment, and the hallway outside, was reportedly flooded with an entire foot of water.

Oops.

The building where our fearless urban dealer lives is located in a super dense part of Hollywood, near the ghetto Hollywood Stars Inn along Sunset Boulevard.

We've contacted the LAPD for more information on the suspect, and — we can only hope — a half-lidded mugshot.
