Three panhandlers suspected in the shocking stabbing death of 23-year-old Christina Calderon at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue have arrest and prosecution records, an LAPD official told the Weekly.

The three, who were asking tourists for a dollar via vulgar, hand-drawn signs and apparently got into a dispute with the victim when she refused to pay up, we were told, were identified by the department today:

27-year-old Dustin Kinnear

33-year-old Jason Wolstone

34-year-old Brian Widdows

Each suspect was booked on suspicion of murder and jailed in lieu of $1 million bail, according to an LAPD statement.

Calderon, from Lynwood, was walking in the area with her friend when they started taking photos of the panhandlers shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the LAPD stated.

A police official on the case told us:

They had some signs, some panhandling signs, that essentially said, 'Expletive you, have a nice day, give me a dollar.'

I think the victim and the witness probably thought that was funny.

Like the costumed, faux superheroes in the area, it appears the suspects were requesting money for photos — or just for nothing, the source said.

A dispute erupted and Calderon was stabbed multiple times, police said, at the busy intersection known for the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars and the tourists who come ot see them.

She died later at a hospital.

What, exactly, the three had records for the official wouldn't say.

The LAPD's case against the trio was being presented to the District Attorney's office this afternoon and charges against the suspect were expected to be filed today or tomorrow, the official said.

[Update at 3:04 p.m.]: The L.A. County District Attorney's office announced this afternoon that charges have been filed against the three.

Prosecutors alleged that was 26-year-old Dustin James Kinnear who did the stabbing, and for that allegation he was charged with one count of murder with a “personal use of a knife allegation,” according to the office.

Jason Joel Wolstone, 33, was hit with “one count of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and two counts of accessory after the fact,” according to a D.A.'s statement.

Brian Joseph Widdows, 34, was charged with “two counts of accessory after the fact.”

Prosecutors are recommending that Kinnear's bail be set at $1 million; the other two were seeing recommendations of $500,000 bail, according to the office.

According to the D.A.'s statement the victim was taking cellphone photos before she was attacked:

Kinnear allegedly fatally stabbed the victim after she refused to give the trio $1 …

The three were scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon in downtown Superior Court.
