As cops start to consider the school graduation season, they're ramping up DUI checkpoints and patrols.
The LAPD plans a strong anti-drunk-driver presence on the streets this weekend starting tonight. The department is even telling you where its officers will be, hoping that you'll stay home or take a cab instead of drinking and driving. Here's your cheat sheet:
–Tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. the LAPD will be conducting an anti-DUI “saturation patrol” throughout the LAPD's Hollywood Division area. That means they'll be on bikes and in cruisers pulling over potential drunk drivers.
–Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. there will be a checkpoint at Slauson and Buckler avenues in Windsor Hills.
–Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. a checkpoint will be waiting for you at Eagle Rock Boulevard and El Paso Drive in Eagle Rock.
–Saturday the LAPD will conduct a checkpoint at Manchester Avenue and Hoover Street from 6 p.m. to midnight in South Los Angeles.
Be careful out there.
