Most of the hit-and-runs we've reported on appear to have been accidents, even if leaving the scene of a serious collision is not the act of an innocent person.

But this time the victims were targeted. At least that's what the Los Angeles Police Department alleges.

Cops say two men who got into a physical fight with five others at an Eastside grocery store got into a vehicle that rammed into some of their foes in the parking lot:

Two victims, identified as 23-year-old Arturo Rueles of Los Angeles, and 23-year-old Jesse Alvarez of Palmdale, both sustained “severe” injuries, according to LAPD.

It happened at 11:25 p.m. Sunday at the Food 4 Less market at 4910 Huntington Drive in El Sereno, police said.

An argument between the two who ended up in the car and five others “escalated into a physical altercation,” according to an LAPD statement. A store security guard escorted the two out of the retailer, police said.

But the duo got into a silver Honda Accord, according to an LAPD statement, and then …

… drove to an area of the parking lot, turned off their headlights and waited for the five men who they had just engaged in a physical altercation to exit the market.

You can probably guess what allegedly happened next:

The Honda headed for the group of five as they left the market, police said. Only two were hit,  however. The car took off afterward, and now cops are looking for the duo that was inside.
