35-Year-Old Woman Killed in Fatal Collision near Wool Creek Drive

SAN JOSE, CA (December 21, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, 35-year-old Hillary Lopez was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Senter Road.

According to police, the fatal crash occurred around 3:24 p.m., near Wool Creek Drive. Emergency crews responded to the area shortly after.

Per reports, 71-year-old Nguyen was driving north on Senter Road in a 2005 BMW 53oi. For reasons unknown, she then struck a 2016 Toyota Prius, driven by Lopez. Upon impact, Nguyen fled the scene.

Paramedics transported Lopez, of Fremont to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile, police located and charged Nguyen with vehicular manslaughter and two counts of felony hit and run. Police said this was the second of two hit-and-run collisions Nguyen caused.

The surrounding area on Senter Road was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since reopened.
