Dear Mr. Gold:

I read your rave about Bulgarini Gelato, and I rushed over to the Pacific Asia Museum, and what did I find? That’s right: no gelato. Where, pray tell, do I find this miraculous stuff? Or do I have to wait for the Pasadena Pinkberry to open instead?

—Jerry, Glendale

Dear Jerry:

While Leo Bulgarini and Elizabeth Foldi continue to make their gelato in a kitchen there, the Pacific Asia Museum is remodeling its courtyard, and the gelato stand probably won’t be open until spring. Until then, you can find Leo slinging his gelato weekends in the lobby of the Laemmle Playhouse 7 theater on the corner of Colorado and El Molino in Pasadena, and during weekdays from a cart in the quad on the Caltech campus. If Bulgarini’s gelato becomes any harder to find, I know devotees who have threatened to slip a GPS tracking device in a hidden crevice of his cart. Laemmle Playhouse 7, 673 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, (626) 844-6500.
