It's that time of the year when birds chirp, flowers bloom and the Washingtonian species flies back to Southern California for financial nourishment.

Yes, get ready for another edition of Obamajam. It starts today. The Los Angeles Police Department has a cheat sheet for you commuters, below.

Obamajam is a bit of a misnomer, though. The U.S. Secret Service, the LAPD and other agencies seem to have figured out years ago how to get the commander-in-chief around here without ruining Westsiders' Whole Foods trips.

However, we will be hit with an extra helping of jam this time: Obama's visit starts Thursday afternoon, the worst traffic day in Los Angeles. And, just as he's leaving, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be here.

Obama is here for a Pacific Palisades roundtable hosted by Charlie Sheen's best friend, TV producer Chuck Lorre, and for a Beverly Hills dinner party at the home of Tyler Perry. Both events are Democratic fundraisers.

He heads to San Francisco late Friday morning.

Though she's not the traffic generator Obama is, Clinton could make some road waves too.

Variety reports she will be here Friday for lunch with Westfield Corp. co-CEO Peter Lowy and for a late-afternoon soiree at the home of HBO executive Michael Lombardo. Friday night she's expected to kick it with Tobey Maguire.

Here are the Obama-related areas to avoid, according to an LAPD statement:
