“Hell's Kitchen” Season 8 winner Nona Sivley steps behind the stoves today to start her new gig as chef de cuisine at LA Market, the in-house restaurant/bar at LA Live's JW Marriott. She'll be working with Kerry Simon (who, mercifully, seems much more zen than Gordon Ramsay) and his executive chef Eric Branger, perhaps adding some Southern flair to the menu.

When we last talked to Sivley, about 2.5 minutes after the “Hell's Kitchen” finale aired, she told us, “I'd like to introduce L.A. to the South a little. I'd like to let them know what grits are really about.” Based on our recent attempt to explain Southern cuisine through Venn Diagrams, we think Los Angeles could use the edification.
